About Me

Hi! I’m Shannon, a 32-year-old art historian living in the midwest. I’m here to document sewing projects, to natter on about queer fat fashion, and to offer my thoughts on sewing as a genderqueer, femme-to-androgynous identified person. I use she/her or they/them pronouns.

While I’ve been sewing on and off since I was a kid, I only recently became more serious about learning new techniques and more thoroughly planning out projects. The online sewing community has been vastly helpful in this regard, and I’m happy to be a part of it. As I’m in the midst of a dissertation, my sewing time is limited, but as a hobby it allows me to exercise all sorts of parts of my brain that, in the end, I think also enhance the rest of my work. Creativity breeds creativity!

I live in Minneapolis with my Old English Bulldog (and recipient of some of my projects!), Imogen. You can also find day-to-day and process shots at my Instagram, and daily outfit chronicles and fashion inspiration at my tumblr.
