My first make of 2018 was just a quick one. I did, technically, complete the cross stitch portion during 2017, working on it during my quiet Christmas at home. I had been wanting a tea cozy for a while, because I like to make a pot of tea to keep me going when writing, but it does cool too quickly. I picked up a length of this Rifle Paper Co. Cotton & Steel fabric to make a super-frilly apron (coming soon, I hope!), but figured I’d have enough to make a very appropriate tea cozy as well.
The cross stitch pattern is from my eternal faves, Junebug and Darlin. It’s nice and quick to stitch up; I’m tempted to make another to go with the rest of my collection.
The lining and little tab are made from striped fabric with little bees, salvaged from a pair of pj pants ages ago! I like that it hints toward the honey I like in my herbal tea.
Bahaha – that made me laugh out loud! Love it!!! (And beautiful work, too!)

Thank you! I have a cute little collection of teaware that doesn’t get used that often! Maybe now I will…
